Vancouver Bars & Clubs
Vancouver once had a tame nightlife since its bars and clubs would close relatively early and city authorities hesitated to develop said industry. But since 2003, things have started to relax more and more.
In fact, you'll find a wide array of bars, pubs, and night clubs along the three blocks of Granville street called the Granville Mall. This area is also known as the Granville Entertainment District, the heart of all the partying throughout Vancouver. Nightspots here include:
- Buffalo Club
- Caprice Nightclub
- Cellar Nightclub
- Gorg-O-Mish
- Plaza Club
- Republic
- Roxy
- The Royal
- Stone Temple Nightclub
- Tonic Nightclub
Granville Entertainment District was once called "Theatre Row" before most of the theatres along this road closed.
On the other hand, the gay community's nightlife revolves around the area near Davie Street, which people call Davie Village.
The legal drinking age is 19 and smoking is not allowed in either restaurants or bars/clubs.
