Silicon Valley North
Major tech companies reside in Ottawa, which has earned the city its title of "Silicon Valley North." Adobe Systems, Cisco Systems, Dell, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, and more technological companies can be found here.
Transportation
Getting in and out of Ottawa is a breeze. There's the VIA Rail, the Ottawa Macdonald-Cartier International Airport, and the Ottawa Bus Central Station.
Moving around in the city is even better. Ottawa's mass transit system is called OC Transpo, provided by the city government. Other transit systems are the Transitway and the O-Train. Of course, there are the three major bodies of water, Ottawa River, Gatineau River, and Rideau River & Canal System.
Education
Since most of Ottawa's citizens speaks in English or French, most of its schools can be divided into English and French schools. French schools are under the French Public School Board or the French Catholic School Board. There's also the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board as well its Catholic School Board counterpart, plus the Ottawa Separate School Board, private schools, and others (Jewish, Chinese, etc.).
The University of Ottawa, which specializes in medicine and law, is one of the oldest universities in Canada. Other universities and colleges include: Algonquin College, La Cite Collegiale, Carleton University, Saint Paul University, Dominican University College.
