Edmonton Bars & Clubs
Nightlife in Edmonton is practically synonymous to Whyte Avenue. Enjoy microbrewed beer at the roof patios of Black Dog, or unwind at The One on Whyte, located at the old Roxy Club. Union Hall is also a laid-back spot, "where the only labels you'll find are on the bottles".
Jasper Avenue is also a strong contender for the city's night crowd. The Druid is a classic Irish pub located along Jasper Ave., with a great selection of beers. Other Irish pubs include Ceili's, which features "jam-oke" or amateur singing with a live band, and O'Byrnes, which plays Celtic music on Tuesdays and has two roomy floors plus a patio.
Back on Jasper Ave., the New City Suburbs will have you mingling with fans of goth, punk, metal, industrial, and electronica. You'll also find the Likwid Lounge there.
If you're even more open-minded, try The Roost on 104 St. Often referred to as the best gay club to the west of Toronto, be prepared for anything, whether it's really old songs, drag shows, or karaoke nights.
