Edmonton Attractions
The Royal Alberta Museum, renamed from the Provincial Museum of Alberta after Queen Elizabeth II's 2005 visit, houses over ten million artifacts. It is just one over seventy in the city.
The Alberta Legislature Building, home of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta, provides tours and exhibits that showcase Canada's heritage.
Another important historical landmark is Fort Edmonton Park, Canada's largest living park right in the middle of the city. It was reconstructed several kilometres upstream from its original location in 1846. Its 75 structures cover four main periods in the city's history, from its fur trading days to its blossoming into a metropolitan area after World War I. Enjoy steam engine and streetcar rides (free) as well as other pioneer modes of transport (for a fee).
